Alaska Airlines is taking significant strides to broaden its international reach by launching a new nonstop route that connects Seattle (SEA) to Seoul Incheon (ICN), effective September 12, 2025. This exciting expansion marks a key development in Alaska Airlines’ global operations, as it partners with Hawaiian Airlines to utilize their Airbus A330-200 for these routes. This collaboration not only highlights Alaska Airlines’ commitment to enhancing its service offerings but also reflects their dedication to meeting the evolving needs of travelers seeking new experiences.

The timing of this new service is particularly noteworthy, as it coincides with Chuseok, South Korea’s equivalent of Thanksgiving—a time when families gather to honor their ancestors and celebrate together. For those living far from home, this becomes a chance to reconnect with loved ones amid a flurry of traditional festivities. With multiple weekly flights, travelers can look forward to a range of scheduling options that cater to their diverse needs, whether they’re returning to celebrate with family or embarking on a new adventure.

Here’s an overview of the flight schedule:

    Outbound (Seattle to Seoul Incheon):

    • Departure: 3:25 p.m.
    • Arrival: 6:50 p.m. (+1 day)
    • Days of Operation: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

    Return (Seoul Incheon to Seattle):

    • Departure: 8:50 p.m.
    • Arrival: 3:00 p.m.
    • Days of Operation: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

Alaska Airlines has ambitious plans in the pipeline, aiming to expand its international offerings to at least 12 destinations from Seattle by 2030. Currently, Seattle stands as the largest West Coast hub for the airline, boasting direct connections to an impressive 104 North American destinations. The Seattle-Seoul route plays a significant role in solidifying Alaska Airlines’ aspiration to establish Seattle as a substantial global hub for air travel.

In addition to this new route, travelers can look forward to more enhancements, including the introduction of daily flights to Tokyo Narita (NRT) starting May 12, which reflects Alaska Airlines’ ongoing efforts to elevate its international services. Looking even further ahead, there are plans to introduce the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the Seattle-Seoul route, which promises a more luxurious travel experience complete with state-of-the-art amenities to ensure maximum comfort for those long-haul journeys.

    Enhanced Connectivity for Seattle Travelers

This new nonstop service doesn’t just add another route—it amplifies Seattle’s role as an essential gateway to Asia, opening a plethora of exciting travel opportunities for all kinds of travelers. Whether you’re heading over for work or leisure, you’ll find the convenience of flexible schedules and seamless connections immensely beneficial. Alaska Airlines is clearly positioning itself as a formidable player in the global travel market, continuously looking for innovative ways to expand its international network and enhance customer experiences.

Navigating the journey of air travel can often seem overwhelming, with options flying at you from every angle. However, Alaska Airlines is here to simplify that experience, promising to make your travels—be it for family reunions or exploring new horizons—more accessible and enjoyable. Through these advancements, Alaska Airlines is not only redefining what it means to travel but is also ensuring that you feel connected to the places and the people that matter most.
